Ibiza hen weekend, the wedding & chronic singledom

I have just realised it has been about 3 months since my last post! On realising this, it also highlighted how busy those months have been.

So what have I been up to lately… Well I only went to Ibiza for a hen weekend last month! 3 days in 30 degree sunshine in an all inclusive hotel, with an itinerary including clubbing in Amnesia (Cream night), a VIP day at Ocean Beach and a final night watching the Balearic sunset from the beach at Cafe Del Mar. A fab, though very tiring, time had by all! True to form though, I was happy to get back to my house, with my own bed & more importantly my cats! I miss them after just one night away, so imagine how I was after 4?! (Don’t be surprised, I’ve already mentioned the crazy cat lady in me πŸ€— ) I guess looking forward to getting home was also partly due to learning that I feel very differently in a group of 10, when I don’t know everyone, compared to a group of my own close friends. Considering it was a group of girls, I must say they were all great & I genuinely liked them all. However, it turns out that I struggled more than I thought I would, despite this. I knew 5 of the girls (close to 2 & more “friends of friends” with the other 3) and had never met 4 of them. Like I said, they were all great & I really liked them – but I still wasn’t able to fully relax. Even now I’m not really sure why. I wonder if I might have felt differently if I’d met them all a couple of times beforehand? I’ll revisit this at some point – definitely something in it!

Obviously a hen weekend means a wedding will follow… Now strangely, I wasn’t looking forward to this as much as I was looking forward to Ibiza. Probably just the thought of another couple of nights away from home, once again lots of people I don’t know, anxiety around doing the wedding makeup (the bride & 6 bridesmaids) & then the embarrassment of being the single loser with no plus one, at an event full of couples. Completely unexpectedly, after struggling with the hen do, I absolutely loved every second of the wedding! The venue was amazing, the weather perfect, I was more than happy with all the makeup, I didn’t at all feel like the single loser, I had a good laugh from start to finish & to top it off, I even came home with a crisp white hotel bath sheet πŸ˜ƒ Everyone does it, right? I thought it was a rule or something?! πŸ€”πŸ˜œ

To really prove how much I loved the wedding venue, I filled out a feedback sheet before leaving. After honestly stating how I found everything about it amazing, it then asked me if there was anything at all which could have made my stay even better. Remaining honest, I said they could have provided me with a husband! I also put on it that I’d like to hold my own wedding there. Obviously I am missing the fella to marry, which might prove to put a little spanner in the works. So I’ve booked it for August 2027. Surely I can’t STILL be single by then? Although I suppose based on luck so far, it’s more than likely 😏 I did ask them to provide me with a fella on the day, should I fail to meet “the one” by then πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I wonder who I’ll end up with?! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Yes, so basically, even with Ibiza & a big wedding under my belt (as well as various other missed opportunities) – I’m still absolutely single! Not even a date to report. Or a one night stand! At least if I’d been used & dumped, I’d have something to talk about that involved the opposite sex… But no. Absolutely nothing. Nada. Zilch. I’m seriously considering applying to take part in “The Undateables” 😩 Mind you, with my luck they are probably not making any more now! Either that, or I end up getting a rejection letter… Not sure whether to laugh or cry at that prospect! Both I expect πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜‚ Beam me up… Haha.

That “new makeup delivery” feeling…

I’m pretty sure most women feel the same. When you receive your parcel & literally can’t wait to rip it open, knowing that you are about to unwrap new makeup products!!

Once opened, it’s then time to spend a minute or so just staring at the beauty of it all, before taking each product out, one by one & giving each individual item a moment of your time. After all, they deserve it! Then you line them all up, keeping them in their boxes for now. Obvs! You just want to admire them for a while, still in their unspoilt state with their boxes untampered. Clearly you need to take a picture as well. A couple of pics in fact, just so you definitely capture everything in the best possible arrangement! Of course, sharing the picture to every social media site you have, is the standard next step. Everyone needs to see what you’re seeing… It would be wrong, just wrong, not to spread the love!

This is what I tell myself anyway. The real reason, I’m not gonna lie, is secretly hoping that all my friends are seeing the picture & feeling mega jealous of my new stash! Haha πŸ˜‚

This is what happiness looks like… πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Excitement, disappointment & finding brush love…

This weekend has consisted of an Ann Summers party, a full set of lashes on a new client & my very first get together showing off Younique products with friends.

The Ann Summers party (organised by me) was with work colleagues & held at one of their homes. I just wandered around in awe for at least the first 20 minutes – her house is gorgeous! Modern yet still nice & homely. I felt like I was walking around on marshmallow, the carpets were so soft & bouncy! I also met the fattest cat I have ever seen. She was ridiculously cute, with her belly practically skimming the floor as she walked πŸ˜πŸ˜‚ The party was decided on in order to boost morale. It has been pretty crap in work for a long while now, for various reasons, so we thought a chance to meet up, let our hair down & have fun was what was needed. It was a complete success, with laughter from start to finish. I even won a “Duck With A Dick”. It is exactly as it sounds. I can’t wait to put him in the bath & giggle childishly πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I had a brand new client in for a full set of lashes yesterday afternoon! I’m pleased because it was the result of me messaging a few people in reply to their posts in a Facebook group, asking about lash extensions. I haven’t really pushed it before, but I have realised that I don’t have enough regular clients & certainly not enough money coming in, so I needed to put myself out there. Luckily it worked! She was also over the moon with her new lashes, beaming from ear to ear. What a lovely confidence boost for me 😊

Last night was the night I had arranged a girlie night round at mine. I assumed that using it as an opportunity to introduce my friends to Younique at the same time, would work really well. There was no intention to push anyone in to getting anything – I just thought it would be fun, something a little different to the “usual” girlie nights, a reason to have people around & a fun way of simply showing off some products. It had been arranged for a good few weeks & I was mega excited, as I would get to do one of my favourite things – play with makeup! Trying it on myself, as well as showing the girls a few tips & tricks. I borrowed my sponsor’s kit for the evening as she has lots of products (very kind of her), so I couldn’t wait to get stuck in, wanting to put everything on, NOW! Haha. The excitement turned to disappointment & embarrassment very quickly though. Of the roughly 10/12 girls meant to be coming, only 3 actually did. I didn’t let on, but I was gutted. This is why I don’t normally do these things, as it seems to happen to me every time! I did actually think this one would be an exception however. It was more about just getting together & having a fun evening, though obviously I was hopeful that some may want to order something. So far I am not having much luck at all with this! I did get to put through a very small order last night, which is absolutely appreciated & of course, better than nothing. I feel like a failure if I’m honest, and I don’t like it one bit πŸ˜”

So the weekend began full of excitement & possibility, but has now run in to disappointment & embarrassment. Hmmmm… I don’t think so! I am getting out of here & heading back towards Happyville, thank you very much! Haha. I’ve vented now (by writing this) so time to focus on positive next steps now πŸ‘πŸΌ

So last night may well have turned out very differently to how I’d imagined, but all is not lost. I still got to play around with a few things I’d been waiting to try… Which means I am now able to talk about them from a personal point of view when asked, rather than simply describing what they are for. This is important to me as I believe in knowing the products you are selling & being able to give people honest feedback through personal use / experience.

My favourites from last night, and now definitely on my “to get” list, are:

Moodstruck Addiction Eyeshadow – Palletes 3 + 5

Moodstruck Minerals Stiff Upper Lip, Lip Stains – “Sucker-punched”, “Sappy” & “Sultry”

Sculpting Trio

Liquid Foundation Brush – I have never loved a brush as much as I love this one! Seriously, I actually don’t know if I can bear the wait for delivery! It is soooo lush! 😍😍

Younique March Customer Kudos: Last 24 hours!!!

This post is aimed at anyone who wasn’t aware of the amazing freebies you can get your hands on throughout March, as well as those who might not have got around to putting their orders in…

I wouldn’t want anyone missing out, so I’m shouting this loudly (you can probably hear me!): WE ARE NOW IN THE LAST 24 HOURS!!!

Just look at the products you could be receiving FOR FREE 😍

I have definitely not missed out on this one & I’m currently waiting (im)patiently for my order to arrive. I am literally beside myself with excitement πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

I am the first to admit that the thought of getting makeup for free is one of my most favourite things! I mean seriously, we all love a freebie, right?!

The difference here however is that these are not just any old freebies, these are genuinely fantastic, full sized & usable products. Who is with me when I say that the amount of freebies I’ve ended up throwing away over the years, due to being completely the wrong colour/shade for me, or the product itself simply not being what I would actually use, is probably in the high numbers?!

Well you will not be throwing any of these away, I can assure you! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

If you are trying to decide on which products to order, to ensure you also end up with those extras, then have a look at my lashes from this morning – taken just before leaving for work…

Check them out!! My lashes are INSANE!! I used Younique’s “Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes+” – this being a coat of the gel, followed by ONE of the fibres, then sealing with a second coat of the gel. Easy Peasy!

**I took this picture using my iPhone camera & can guarantee I have NOT edited it in any way or added any filters**

Perhaps you have been thinking about some new eye shadows? Who would like a range of pallets with various shade options to choose from? Colours that are highly pigmented, ensuring fabulous colour results with minimal product application, and therefore being a total dream to blend?

Then have a gander at these beauties!!!! 😍😍😍 “Moodstruck Addiction Shadow Pallette” – available in 5 stunning shade combinations

The range of looks you can create, from each pallet, is just incredible! (Not me in the pic this time).

I am desperate to get my hands on Number’s 3 + 5 on my next order 😍😍😍

Anyway, I shall stop here, in the hope you go on to have a look through the range & grab yourself those brilliant free products before it’s too late!!

Fiber Lashes…

I’ve heard many different opinions on fiber lash mascara. If I’m honest, I’ve never been tempted to give it a go. Messy fibres getting everywhere? Getting in my eyes? Taking forever to apply? No thank you!

That was however until I tried the Younique 3D FiberLash+! Honestly, I only gave it a go because it was included in my kit (I have just started up as Younique Presenter due to absolutely loving the rest of the makeup range) & I probably still wouldn’t have tried it yet had it not been in it.

Not only was it ridiculously easy to apply, it wasn’t at all messy, AND LOOK AT THE RESULTS!!!

To say I’m shocked is an understatement & I’m now left wondering why I didn’t discover this amazing mascara long before now! What a waste of perfect lash days!!

These pictures are not edited & I’ve not used any filters…

This is one coat of the gel, followed by one coat of fibres, followed by one more coat of the gel to seal. I’m AMAZED! I have well & truly been won over πŸ˜ƒ

Who doesn’t want super long, super thick, beautiful lashes?!

I’m officially in love 😍
Head to my page if you want to join me in lash heaven!!

First post!Β

Greetings from Planet Liz!

A little about me: I love makeup, skin care & all things beautifying. I’m a chocoholic (I actually prefer to think of myself more as a “chocolate connoisseur”). If being completely unlucky in love was an Olympic sport, I’d have the Gold medal! My two cats are the loves of my life (hardly surprising considering the previous sentence). Other loves include music, food (usually the “bad for you” kind), the Big Bang Theory, laughing until I cry and an occasional night out when I can wear my heels and let my hair down.

Oh, and I’m lazy! Don’t get me wrong, I work full time & my house is always clean & tidy – however, when it comes to anything I have a “choice” with, I need it to be as easy as possible. For example, my star sign is Leo and true to form, I have the Leo mane of hair. Long & ridiculously thick. It’s such a chore when washing, blow drying and straightening takes a minimum of an hour, every time. So finding ways to cut this time down & not look like I’ve been dragged through a hedge and back again, means I’m more likely to do nice things with it. Rather than thinking “sod it” and just putting it up, wet, because the idea of it taking an hour literally makes me want to shave it off! Another example is makeup. I honestly love makeup & applying it, but anything complicated which takes extra time & eats in to my extra few minutes in bed every morning, can, with all due respect, get stuffed.  I prefer products which can be applied quickly & easily. None of these contouring pallets containing 17 different colours which need to be applied with precision & a spirit level. I would like to point out that I do in fact contour everyday! But it’s simple & effective. My kind of makeup.

My plan for future blogs is to share all the things which basically make my life beautiful but with minimum effort. From hair & makeup to simply sharing my thoughts.

Welcome to my world πŸ™‚
